Can't find what you're looking for?
View all search resultsWith all this fear about artificial intelligence replacing humans, we feel it’s important to show how you can actually make AI work for you.
While AI won’t replace you, you could be replaced by somebody using AI, as they are likely to get things done faster, cheaper and more efficiently.
The key is knowing what tasks to delegate to AI tools and how to supervise the work of these digital assistants. By using these AI tools responsibly and effectively, they can help you shine at work or at the very least, survive the rapid advance of AI.
Since almost everyone is using ChatGPT, here are five other AI tools that we’ve tried and tested.
We could be biased, since Notion is part of our Monday-Friday workflow at The Jakarta Post, but we’re fans of how this all-in-one tool for personal organization, team collaboration and project management basically spruces up your workspace à la Marie Kondo.
If your online life is scattered across multiple to-do lists, calendars and documents, you can use Notion to manage them in a single platform. Its note-taking and insightful progress reporting features can cut your work time in half, so you can focus on your key tasks. A plus is that it also has AI-powered features to help you brainstorm, summarize and draft anything.
The possibilities are endless in both the professional and personal realms, from collaborative group projects and event planning to leftover meal prep and grocery shopping.

One of the most tedious and time-consuming tasks of a writer is transcribing endless files. AI transcription tools, especially ones that have language capabilities other than English, are therefore instant productivity boosters.
TurboScribe can transcribe up to three audio files, each around 30 minutes long, for free every day. It understands more than 98 languages including Indonesian, and can even translate automatically into English if you want. If you need more than what the free plan offers, subscribing to unlimited services costs just US$120 (Rp 1.9 million) per year.
Auris AI takes audio-to-text transcription to the next level, with options to subtitle videos, translate audio files and even export the finished transcript to YouTube. The free plan allows 15 minutes of use per month, while the standard plan gives you five hours per month for $14.
While the output from either TurboScribe or Auris AI won’t be as clean as what a human transcriber can produce so you’ll have to double-check any direct quotations, using these tools will still be much faster and cheaper.
What do you get when you combine a paraphraser, grammar checker, summarizer, citation generator and plagiarism detector? QuillBot, which will “write with you, not for you”, according to its developer.
This AI-powered tool is designed for students, academics and non-native English speakers who want help in creating clear, polished and professional text. QuillBot will not only suggest changes, but also explain why they’re necessary. This tool simultaneously fixes our writing and helps us learn how to improve our craft as writers.

It can be difficult to stay awake, let alone take notes, in meetings that could’ve been a simple email.
Otter not only transcribes all verbal discussions to make sure you don’t miss anything, but can also create a summary and outline and note down any action items mentioned. You can even ask questions about what was discussed.
This AI tool is like having the perfect assistant sit in on all your meetings. It can auto-join your Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams meetings and even capture screenshots of slide presentations.
You can also use Otter to attend online workshops and webinars when you’re busy with other meetings. Afterward, you can simply review the notes and play back any relevant parts once you have time.
